TORTILLA FACES

INGREDIENTS:

Small flour tortillas -whole wheat or plain


Spread – hummus, nut butter, or cream cheese, avocado

3 BRIGHT COLOURS (choose 3)

· Peppers- red, green, orange or yellow

· Cucumbers

· Celery

· Lettuce

* Peppers

* Green beans

· Grape tomatoes

· Banana

· Apple

· Strawberry

Your choice

TOOLS:

· Apron

· Cutting board

· Small flat knife -plastic knife or butter knife

· Cutlery knife

· Food waste bowl

· Plate

· Cleaning cloth

Oct 26 and Oct 29:

Rainbow Salad with Lemony Dressing

INGREDIENTS:

Create your own - think of the colours and flavours!

Greens:

- Lettuce - Leafy leffuce or baby spinach or cabbage

cucumber, celery, edamame, green onion, green beans

Yellows

- Corn, yellow peppers, chickpeas

Orange

- Carrots, orange pepper

Red

- Tomatoes, red peppers

Purple

- red onion, red cabbage, Kalamata olives

Dressing: Pick your favourite or make one

1 Lemon

1/3 cup Olive Oil

½ tsp Salt

Pepper

TOOLS:

Apron

Bowl with 1/4 water for washing veggies

Salad spinner or clean tea towel

Cutting board

Cutlery knife

Peeler

Grater (optional)

Fork, Spoon

Food waste bowl

Measuring spoons

Small jar with lid (like a mason jar or water tight container)

Plate

Nov 2 and Nov 5:

Powerballs & POWER Parfaits

INGREDIENTS:

· 1 cups quick oats or Whole oats

· 1/2 cup Wow Butter (Soy peanut butter alternative – you can use your favourite Nut butter or seed better as you wish and depending on your allergies –Sunflower Seed butter is another good nut-free option)

· 1/4 cup liquid honey (or pure maple syrup for a variation)

· 1/4 cup raisins or dried fruits or coconut

· 1/4 cup chocolate chips or hemp hearts, seeds, nuts,

· 1/2 tsp Cinnamon or pumpkin spice

· 1/2 tsp vanilla

· Pinch of fine sea salt

3 fruits - berries, apples, bananas, grapes, your favourite

Yogurt - plain, greek, or flavoured, kefir or skyr

Cereal - granola, muslei, your favourite

TOOLS:

· Apron

· Cutting board

· Spoons

· Cutlery knife

Measuring cups and spoons

Scoop (optional)

· Plate

Container with lid for storage

Special glass or container for parfait

Nov 9 and Nov 19:

Super Dips

Guacamole and bean dip

Ingredients:

Corn chips

2-3 ripe avocados

· Can of white kidney beans

· 1/3 cup of fresh herbs (e.g. dill, cilantro, parsley)

6 grape tomatoes or 1/2 medium tomato

· ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil

· 1-2 lemons or limes

· 1-2 cloves of garlic

· Sea salt & pepper to taste

Tools:

Apron

Cutting board

Knife – small plastic or cutlery knife

Small bowl for food waste

Spoons, fork

Measuring cups and spoons,

Citrus press (optional)

Garlic press (optional)

Stick blender or manual food processor or fork or masher

Plate or bowl

Cleaning cloth

Nov 23 and Nov 26:

Healthy Muffins

INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup mashed banana or grated apple or zucchini or carrot

1 egg

1/4 cup butter or coconut oil – melted (20-30 seconds in microwave)

3/4 cup flour

½ cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

Optional: 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Chunks: Use ¼ cup total: You can mix and match!

Raisins, Choc chips, frozen blueberries or raspberries.

· 3/4 cup cheddar cheese
