TOOLS NEEDED for EVERY Class:
Apron
Water to clean produce
Cutting board
Spoons, fork
Cutlery knife
Medium bowl
Food waste bowl
Measuring cups and spoons
Plate
Cleaning cloth
Soapy water in sink
July 11: Super Sandwiches
Avocado Toast and Tuna Melts
INGREDIENTS:
Bread
Avocado - ripe
Lemon or lime juice
Salt & Pepper
Chick peas (optional)
Tuna - one tin
Mayonnaise
Mustard, relish or dill pickle
Cheese
SPECIAL TOOLS
Oven * ADULT SUPERVISION
July 18:
Pasta Salad
INGREDIENTS:
· 1-2 cups Pasta - cooked
3 Bright Colours: Choose at least 3
· GREEN: green pepper, pickles, parsley, cucumber, celery, avocado, olives, edamame
· RED OR ORANGE: Grape Tomatoes, red and orange peppers, grated carrots,
· YELLOW: chick peas, sweet corn, yellow peppers
· Cheese – cheddar, parmesan
DRESSING: Use your favourite: Ranch, Italian, Californian (or Catalina), Caesar or make your own:
DIY DRESSING: Olive oil, lemon or lime or vinegar, herbs (dried or fresh) or spices, salt & Pepper
Optional: Mustard, honey, garlic, mayonnaise
SPECIAL TOOLS:
Grater
Colander
Pot for pasta
Jar with lid for dressing
Stove* ADULT SUPERVISION
July 25: Strawberry Shortcake Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
· butter
· flour
· sugar - white sugar and brown sugar
· baking powder
· Pinch of salt
· vanilla
· milk or buttermilk (add vinegar or lemon juice to milk)
· Strawberries, Raspberries or choice of fruit
· Icing sugar
Whipping cream
· TOOLS:
Baking sheet
Oven * ADULT SUPERVISION
Colander or seive
Beater for whip cream
Aug 8: Summer Stir Fry
INGREDIENTS:
· Rice or noodles
Protein: Chicken, tofu, pork or beef
3 Bright Colours - Choose from:
Green: Celery, green pepper, broccoli
Orange: carrots, orange peppers
Red: Red pepper, red cabbage
Yellow: Zucchini, yellow pepper, baby corn
White: Onion, mushrooms, bean sprouts
Sauce - teriyaki, black bean sauce, hoisin or oyster sauce, soy sauce
SPECIAL TOOLS:
Frying pan or wok
wooden spoon or spatula
Stove * ADULT SUPERVISION
Aug 15:
Fruit Sorbet
INGREDIENTS:
Fruit - frozen up to 4 cups of berries, mango, blueberries, or your choice
Sugar, honey or maple syrup
Lemon juice
Vanilla (optional)
Serve with:
Favourite protein (eg. Greek yogurt), sprinkle of hemp hearts

Blender
Aug 22: BBQ Pizza
*** Amounts depend on size of baking dish - individual or family size
INGREDIENTS:
Flour
Olive oil
Salt
Sugar
Yeast
Sauce - tomato sauce, or BBQ sauce or olive oil
Toppings: Favourite veggies, zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms, peppers
Cheese
TOOLS
·peeler
Baking dish to fit fruit
Oven * ADULT SUPERVISION
Sept 12: Lasagna
Family treat!
INGREDIENTS:
Noodles - uncooked lasagna noodles
pasta sauce - Marinara sauce recipe
Meat (if desired) - minced beef
Veggies - layer with zucchini, peppers, mushrooms or eggplant
Soft cheese - ricotta or cottage cheese or both
1-2 Eggs
Seasonings: oregano, basil, garlic powder, italian seasonings, salt & pepper
Cheese - mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar
Tools:
1 Knife – sharp chef and paring knife
Grater for cheese
Baking dish
Large bowl or baking tray to soak noodles
Sept 19: Nugget and Fries
INGREDIENTS:
Chicken or alternative meat or protein
Egg
Flour
Bread crumbs
Seasonings: Salt, Pepper, Thyme, Paprika
Potatoes
Olive oil
SPECIAL TOOLS:
Baking sheet
Parchment paper
