Resources for Healthy Lunch box ideas:
Healthy Lunch Box Ideas:
Try to include 3 bright colours from fruits & veggies plus a protein as body for good nutrition to build their body, and some carbohydrate for energy.
Fruits - Apple slices dipped in lemon water, banana, grapes, orange wedges, berries, melon chunks
Fruit parfaits - a delicious treat that the kids can make the night before in a jar with lid
Powerballs- a homemade version of granola bars that can be made from nut-free Wowbutter or Peabutter so it’s school-friendly
Pizza rolls - a favourite that everyone can add their own flavours to. Wrap in a paper towel before microwaving for 30 seconds, and tuck into lunchbox with the paper towel
Dips with veggies sticks or corn chips or whole grain crackers - hummus, bean dip, guacamole
Sandwiches can be made from wraps the kids make, rolled up bread to make mini pinwheel sandwiches, small buns, toasted cheese or even a breakfast sandwich with an eqg
Make your own mac & cheese full of cheesy sauce on veggies like cauliflower, broccoli and green peas. Delicious comfort food!
Leftovers are the best! Pasta, bean or hamburgers, chicken on salad, grain bowls or as we like to call them - Happy Bowls!.
Deconstructed tacos are a treat! Have some corn chips, with a side of refried beans, lettuce, cheese, tomato or salsa and guacamole
Tired of making lunches for the kids? Get the kids in the kitchen helping! Best thing for their independence skill building and confidence.
