COOKSMART SUMMER CAMPS : Overview
Daily routines in the full program include food planning, food preparation lessons, new food taste testing, meal preparation, eating together and clean-up, and outdoor games. Each week we will be making or baking some food for THE COMPASS food bank to give back to our community. The end of the program we will have an COOKSMART Challenge competition with community members as judges. Parents will be invited to watch the judging and any camper presentations on Friday during the last hour of camp.
Includes all snacks and lunch. Vegetarian meals. All food allergies and dietary issues accommodated.

July 16-20 COOKSMART Kids: FOOD & FILM is back with Mandy Orchard from HAH productions where Healthy Living and Cooking for the Cooksmart Challenge becomes the theme for filming and movie making. There is a final presentation of the students' movie creations on Friday.

Holiday Helpers, ages 7+
Got a keen helper for the kitchen this holiday season? COOKSMART will get them veggie-ready to make your child the best chopper and veggie prepper in the household! Peeling potatoes, chopping onions, squash, cabbage, beans, salad… no veggie will be a challenge after this workshop. Knife and peeling skills will be taught, practiced and mastered! And the veggies for dinner will be done.

Colourful Cooks 2017
FREE event sponsored by ivivva.
Let’s get 2017 off to a great start by learning about healthy eating in a fun, interactive session at ivivva. Kids will learn why eating colourful veggies and fruits boost their bodies, and get to explore their sense of taste and make a take home salad dressing made to their liking. COOKSMART Youth is a fun, hands-on cooking program designed to engage intermediate students in nutrition and cooking basics, and inspiring them to make healthy choices. This afterschool program will introduce simple nutrition, new foods, and build kitchen confidence by developing their cooking skills and learning ten recipes that will save their health from a lifetime of convenience foods.

COOKSMART Kids 2 is the next fun, hands-on cooking program designed to engage students who have had previous COOKSMART or cooking experience in more nutrition and cooking skills to make even more healthy choices. This afterschool program will introduce nutrition, new foods, and build kitchen confidence by developing more knife skills, how to use the stove and oven safely. Students will make their own recipes that will save their health from a lifetime of convenience foods. Lesson 5 will be a COOKSMART Challenge!

COOKSMART Teen Independence Ages 14+
Book a day for cooking lessons before you go to University or College on your own! Book 2 days for full program and learn 10 recipes to save your health from convenience foods. Stress and exam survival tips too.
$70 per day, $125 for two days

5 Half-day Program (St. Bride's Church, Clarkson Road North, Mississauga)
JULY 17-21, Ages 6-13 1pm-4pm $145
Great way to enjoy food and fun while learning important life skills. Healthy eating, food safety, basic cutting and chopping, plus learning how to taste and balance flavours. Kids make lots of fresh dishes with veggies and fruits, and they learn how to clean up properly. The end of the program we will have an COOKSMART Challenge competition.

We are excited to be working with HAH Pixies movie making camp from pixiebluestudio.com for the afternoons, when we will be working together to make a food documentary featuring COOKSMART Kids and their COOKSMART Challenge. Our mornings will be learning about nutrition, cooking, making snacks and our super yummy lunches together. After some fresh air, we will be working on creating a fantastic food documentary with the movie makers from pixieblue.

This program will start right after the VBS camp, and campers will make their own healthy lunch together. Some lunches will be non-vegetarian with vegetarian option. Friday campers will get to create their best dish for the COOKSMART CHALLENGE with our community judges!
This will be an engaging hands-on workshop to empower teens make better food decisions for their skin, body-type, stress management and includes preparing some easy meals and snacks for food independence. Excellent preparation before leaving the kitchen comforts of home.
