TOOLS:

  • Apron

  • Cutting board

  • Spoons

  • Cutlery knife

  • Medium bowl

  • Food waste bowl

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Plate

  • Container with lid for storage

  • Cleaning cloth

  • Soapy water in sink


March 4:

Creamy Pasta

INGREDIENTS:

Butter

Flour

milk

whipping or table cream

soup broth

Seasoning: garlic, Salt, pepper, nutmeg (optional)

Veggies (choose up to 3): peppers, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, spinach

Protein (choose 1: ham, bacon, chicken, hard boiled egg

Cheese - parmesan or cream cheese, cheddar (optional)

Pasta - long or short pasta

Special TOOLS:

·1 medium skillet or medium pot

1 large pot for pasta

March 11: Homemade Pizza

INGREDIENTS:

Flour

Yeast

Salt

Sugar

Warm water

Sauce : tomato sauce, pesto, alfredo sauce or olive oil

Protein: Chicken, pepperoni, ham, bacon

Veggies:

Onion, mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, pineapple, olives, tomato

Cheese - mozzarella, cheddar, feta, goat, your choice!

Seasonings:

Garlic powder, basil, oregano, chile flakes

Special TOOLS:

2 bowls - 1 smaller, one larger with plate to cover top

Baking sheet or pizza pan


March 25: Chicken Noodle Soup

Option to use Turkey, meat balls or make it vegetarian by leaving the poultry out

INGREDIENTS:

Protein: Chicken - uncooked breast, or leg about 500g, (turkey or vegetarian

Veggies: Choose at least 3

Onion - yellow

Carrots

Celery

Option

Optional veggies: potato, spinach or kale, peppers, mushrooms, sweet potato, squash, zucchini

Egg noodles or small pasta

Seasonings:

Garlic - fresh or powder

Olive Oil

Salt & Pepper

Herbs: parsley, thyme, rosemary, bay leaf (fresh or dried)

Optional flavour booster - bouillon cube or soup powder

Special TOOLS:

Large pot


April 1: Lemony Chicken and Rice Casserole

INGREDIENTS:

·       butter or olive oil

·       ½ onion or ½ cup mire poix

·       1-2 cloves garlic minced or 1 tsp garlic powder

·       1 chicken breast or 2 thighs

·       1 cup rice

·       2 cups broth or water with 2 tsp bouillon powder

·       1 cup veggies : broccoli florets,  peppers, spinach, shredded carrot, or green peas

·       parmesan cheese - grated

·       1 lemon - zest, and juice

·       salt and black pepper

·       Garnish: Parsley – torn fresh leaves, chile flakes, grated parmesan cheese
