Power Snacks
INGREDIENTS:
Power Balls and Power Parfaits:
· 1 cups quick oats or Whole oats chopped in Manual Food Processor
· 1/2 cup Wow Butter (Soy peanut butter alternative – you can use your favourite Nut butter or seed better as you wish and depending on your allergies –Sunflower Seed butter is another good nut-free option)
· 1/4 cup liquid honey (or pure maple syrup for a variation)
· 1/4 cup raisins*
· 1/4 cup chocolate chips
· 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
· 1/2 tsp vanilla
· Pinch of fine sea salt
3 Fruits: Berries, banana, oranges, apple, pineapple, mango, kiwi, grapes, melon balls from cantaloupe, honey dew or watermelon
Yogurt: Plain yogurt, Greek yogurt (for more protein), kefir
1 Cereal: Flakes, muesli, granola, shredded wheat, cheerios, shreddies, crispie rice
Toppings: Granola, cinnamon, grated chocolate, choc chips, coconutTOOLS:
- option to blend it into a smoothy and top with cereal & toppings

Sept 25:
Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese
Ingredients:
¼ cup Butter
1 Onion
1 L Soup broth
1 large can or jar of Tomatoes – pureed, strained or crushed
Salt & Pepper
Bread
Cheese - cheddar, mozzarella, smoked - any kind that melts
3 veggies to use for side: Cucumber, carrots, peppers, etc.

Knife -cutlery knife or small paring knife
2 Small bowls
Spoon- large for mixing soup
Pot
Fry pan
Flipper
Stove * ADULT SUPERVISION

Oct 2:
Sweet & Savoury Crepes
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup flour
2 eggs
½ cup milk
½ cup water
¼ tsp salt
2 Tbsp Butter – melted
Toppings: Choose 1 sweet combination and 1 savoury
Sweet options:
Lemon, icing sugar, syrup, honey
Fruit - apples, berries, pears
Cinnamon
Yogurt
Savoury:
Cheese - goat cheese, feta, cheddar, swiss, mozzarella
Veggies - peppers, spinach, onion, mushrooms, asparagus, tomatoes
Protein: egg, ham, chicken, beans, spiced mince beef, salmon
Your favourite choice! Leftovers work beautifully

Omelettes
INGREDIENTS:
Omelettes - for 1 omelette
· 2 eggs beaten
· 1/2 tsp dried herbs (basil, oregano, parsley, or chives)
· 1/2 cup veggies (Choose 3: peppers, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, or asparagus, tomatoes or your favourite)
· Optional: cheddar cheese, feta cheese, beans, tofu, ham, chicken, your favourite protein
You can make as many as you like, just multiply the ingredients

Oct 23:
Pasta with Alfredo Sauce
INGREDIENTS:
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1-2 cloves garlic minced or 1 tsp powdered garlic
2 cups milk
½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
½ cup parmesan cheese - grated
3/4 cup cream cheese or heavy cream
Pasta
Protein: Optional
Shrimp, chicken, bacon, eggs, edamame, chickpeas
Add some colour!
Suggestions: mushrooms, greens like spinach or kale, tomatoes, green peas, or frozen veggies

Vegetarian Chili
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup chopped onion
3 cloves garlic
1 TBSP oil
¾ cup carrots diced
¾ cup celery diced
¾ cup corn
1 tin tomatoes
1 tin kidney beans
1 TBSP cumin
1 tsp salt
1 bay leaf
¼ tsp chili powder
Pepper to taste
Garnish:
Cheese - cheddar or parmesan (grated)
Corn chips - crumbled
or crusty bread as side dish
