Traditional Brownies:
INGREDIENTS •
1/2 cup butter • 3/4 cup brown sugar • 2 eggs • 1 tsp vanilla • 1/3 cup cocoa powder • 1/2 cup flour • 1/4 tsp salt • 1/4 tsp baking powder
Frosting: (Optional)
3 TBSP butter, softened 3 TBSP cocoa powder 1 TBSP honey 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup icing sugar
Black Bean Brownies:
1 can black beans - • 2 TBSP cocoa powder • 1/2 cup quick oats • 1/4 tsp salt • 1/3 cup maple syrup or honey • 1 pinch stevia (optional or additional 1 tbsp honey) • 1/4 cup coconut oil • 1/2 tsp baking powder • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Substitutions: Use what you have!
Butter = coconut oil
Chocolate chips or cocoa powder = baking chocolate
Sugar = white sugar, brown sugar, honey, or maple syrup
Baking soda = baking powder
Flour =all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, gluten-free flour
